Ping a Page Super Easy by Galen Morgigno
Get the Word Out, Get more Traffic, Ping a Page Super Easy!!
The first question should be, WHY to ping a page or a website? Basically when you ping a page on your website or your RSS feed, you are telling the search engines that you have just updated the content on your blog and since search engines like new and fresh content, they are more likely to come over to your new post to check it out and hopefully index it into their page’s.
This not only means that you will get more traffic to your website, but that you will get your pages indexed into the search engines quicker.
The quicker you ping a page, the quicker you can get that information to the search engines thus increasing your blog’s popularity. And what does popularity mean, more traffic!!
So how do you ping a page?
It’s very simple to ping your blog or ping a page, you just need to use a service that will do it for you or set it up into the “writing” settings area of your WordPress blog to do it automatically. Let’s review some of services that you can use, some I have listed here are for free.
PingoMatic is perhaps one of the most popular free pinging services. You enter the name of your blog/website, the page that you want to ping and your RSS feed which is optional. You select the services and press the send ping button.
Ping Device, is another free pinging service. Simple and easy to use.
Pingoat, is another service that pings or notifies a number of services that keep track of weblogs and publish them. Its similar to PingoMatic.
FeedShark, Feed Shark is another free online tool that easily promotes your blog or website – with the simple push of a button! Feed Shark pings a variety of services to notify the globe that your blog, website, RSS feed, or podcast has recently been updated or created! You do need to add a piece of code to your website for this service to work.Â
Pingler is a paid for service. However, they do have a free service which you can use.
How often should you ping a page or website?
As I mentioned before each time you write a new post on your blog, update your website or you want to update Google’s search engine’s.
Again, If you have a WordPress site and you want to ping the services each time you publish your posts you can either use these free services or go to the writing settings area of your WordPress admin dashboard and enable the XML-RPC settings. Be sure to copy the list provided by WordPress back to your “Update Services” area and save.
As an online network marketer and blogger it is important to know this information. Its just as important to you as traffic is to your blog or leads for your network marketing business.
Blogging, SEO, pinging, on page – off page all of this can be confusing and time consuming especially if your new. If your a techie kind of person its cool and its fun, but everyone is not like this. If all you wanted to do was write content, create leads and earn some extra cash online then a blog network might be the answer for you.
I have recently been testing a new blogging model that does exactly what I mentioned above. If you are new to the industry or you have been non profit blogging for a while then this might be worth at least a look at. Don’t you think?
Until Next Time …. Happy Pinging!!
